TheEmblem of the State of Israel(Hebrew: סמל מדינת ישראל) shows a menorah surrounded by an olive branch on each side, and the writing "ישראל" (Hebrew for Israel) below it. Most commonly light blue and white. Symbolism: The image used on the emblem is based on a depiction of the menorah on the Arch of Titus. The menorah was used in the ancient Temple in Jerusalem and has been a symbol of Judaism since ancient times. It symbolizes universal enlightenment. The emblem may also be based on the vision of the angel by the biblical prophet Zechariah, chapter 4, where he describes seeing a menorah (lampstand and on the top of it seven lamps with seven pipes to the seven lamps) flanked by two olive trees, one on each side. Relief depicting a procession of slaves and soldiers returning to Rome after the victory of the Romans over Judea , and the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 AD. The use of Roman relief was to mark the return of the lamp to its original position. The olive branches symbolize peace.Wikipedia
